A programme of Lectures is provided once a month on Tuesday afternoons between September and June each year in St Edmund's Hall, Cumberland Road, Southwold, IP18 6JP, starting promptly at 2 pm and lasting approximately one hour. These are given by professional lecturers chosen from The Arts Society panel of approved lecturers who come from across the country. Tea is served afterwards. We welcome guests at all our lectures depending on availability of seats. A donation of about £5 would be appreciated.

Throughout the year various events and activities are planned in addition to the lecture programme. Twice a year we also hold Special Interest Days (see below).

Visits take place regularly to places of interest such as historic houses, art galleries and museums. So far this year there have been visits to the Sainsbury Centre in Norwich, the City of London, Maldon and Ingatestone Hall, Elton Hall near Peterborough and Tombland, Norwich.

Short breaks are also organised, the most recent being to Liverpool in early June 2019.  A short break is planned to Kent in June 2020.

Special Interest days are usually held in the Spring and Autumn. The aim is to look at a subject in greater depth than is possible in a lecture and to give members the opportunity to consider and discuss original material with an expert. Lunch is usually included.

TAS Southwold is part of the East Anglian Area who also organise special interest days and other activities and members of this society are welcome to join any of these events. To find out more, click here to visit The Arts Society East Anglia Area website.
